Keiko Kitagawa introduction to Seventeen, November 2003. I can’t believe this was 10 years ago - SHE IS SUCH AN ICKLE BB UGH
But the actual reason I’m posting this: Keiko’s Blog Translation recently put up a translation of the text, and I thought it was interesting enough to warrant a post.
Nickname: Kitayan.
Sibling: Younger brother in 3rd middle.
Monthly allowance: ¥10,000. (Mod Note: This equals about $100 now, but the exchange rate might have been better in 2003. I certainly hope so. Anyway, I’m assuming this is referring to her salary with the magazine, in which case, wow that is not a lot of money.)
Future goal: Preserve my beautiful skin and fresh radiance! (Mod Note: While I consider this mission accomplished, if Keiko said this unprompted, I’ll eat my hat.)
Treasured item: My print club photo collection that I started in 1st high last summer.
Favourite ST model: Suzuki Emi-chan♥♥
Favourite type of boys: Those that work hard to reach their goals.
Boyfriend: None.
Favourite celebrity: Yada Akiko-san♥ (Mod Note: These two are friends now. Keiko and Akiko recently went to go see a Takarazuka production, “Rose of the Versailles.” Last year, Keiko also went to see Akiko in a Takarazuka staging of “Maya Miki.”)
Favourite convenience store candy: Consommé punch flavoured potato chips.
Favourite characters: Minnie-chan and Sailor Mars. (Mod Note: CRYING ABOUT IT)
Things you collect: Earrings.
Number of earring holes: 1 right, 3 left.
Special skills: Swimming, tarot cards.
Favourite food: Curry rice, ramen.
Favourite manga: “Black Jack”, “Buddha”.
Moving book: “Between Calm and Passion - Rosso”
Rina Koike on the cover of Arms Magazine, April and May 2013. No, I didn’t know such a thing existed either. Also, unless I’m mistaken, Ayaka Komatsu just finished a covershoot for the same magazine set to hit stands this summer.
A feature on Mew Azama celebrating her 10th anniversary in show business. Congrats, Mew!
