Some more behind the scenes interviewing of Keiko, Sho, and Kippei. I would find it weird that they’ve covered Keiko’s legs with a blanket, but see, I just read through a whole issue of Circus Max for the first time. Apparently it’s all the rage to take candid pics of actresses and idols in skirts and zoom in creepily and… well you get the point. So I enjoy that Keiko and her people are just like, “LOL NOPE.”
Behind the scenes filming the Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de movie with Keiko, Sho, and Kippei. I cannot wait for the “I’m on a Boat” parodies. I don’t care if the joke is old to you, IT WILL NEVER GET OLD TO ME.

Getting headaches because of Candle Sho XD
She is the most adorable thing.
It was announced that “Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de” which was aired as a drama series on Fuji TV during October to December 2011, starring Arashi’s Sakurai Sho and actress Kitagawa Keiko, will get a movie adaptation.
The drama is based on Higashikawa Tokuya’s big hit novel which tells a story about “Hosho Reiko” (played by Kitagawa), a rookie detective, and the daughter of a plutocrat, who solves various cases by receiving the help of her butler “Kageyama” (played by Sakurai), who has a wicked tongue. The drama series received a highest audience rating of 18.1%, and it also aired as a special drama back in March.
Reportedly, the movie will be filmed in Singapore, and also on the biggest cruise ship in Asia, “SuperStar Virgo”.
About this movie adaptation, Sakurai commented, “I’m very happy to be able to play ‘Kageyama’ again after the drama series, special drama, and now in the movie, since it’s not often that I can play a specific role for a long time and many times.” He continued, “Filming in Singapore where I have wanted to visit, and also filming on the luxurious cruise ship… though it’s for work, my heart is bubbling with anticipation. I am sure that it will be an enjoyable movie for both children and adults, so I will be happy to see people have high expectations.”
Kitagawa also commented, “By reuniting with the staff members again, it feels like I’ve returned to work! I am sure that filming overseas will infuse a new breeze into the movie, while still maintaining the charm of the series. Please look forward to see the scaled-up ‘Nazotoki’.”
In the movie adaptation, Shiina Kippei who played “Kazamatsuri Kyoichiro”, the boss of Reiko in the drama series, will also make an appearance. Adding to Shiina, Nakamura Masatoshi, Sakuraba Nanami, Kaga Takeshi, Miyazawa Rie, Takenaka Naoto, Kaname Jun, and Namae Katsuhisa will be added as new cast members.
The movie adaptation of “Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de” will be released sometime in 2013.

As a reminder, subs are available for streaming at DramaCrazy.net. Currently, episodes one and two are available. I haven’t had time to watch it yet (seriously, I have a staggering amount of things on my ‘to watch’ list), but once I do, I’m sure I’ll squeal a ridiculous amount.
The first episode of Keiko Kitagawa’s new series “Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de.” No subs for the time being; if you know any fansubbers, be sure to poke them to do this, or let me know if you find any elsewhere! I didn’t try to watch it since I’d have no idea what’s going on, but the opening is really cool and Koda Kumi’s song sounds hella addictive, so I suggest everyone at least give that a look. :) I may upload that separately later.
Non-members of Veoh can only watch the first five minutes. I know Veoh is blocked some places, so if a lot of people are having problems and dying to see it, let me know and I’ll upload it to the blog’s YouTube account.

On October 11th, 2011, Sho Sakurai, Keiko Kitagawa, and Kippei Shiina held a press conference for their drama “Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de” on a luxury liner called “Sealine Tokyo Symphony Classica“.
Sakurai reflected back on Arashi’s debut press conference, which was similarly held on a liner off the shore of Honolulu, Hawaii. He expressed, “Since my debut, this is the first time in 12 years that I’ve held a press conference on a liner… so I’m a little nervous.” Regarding his unique character for the drama, he stated, “I want to create a new kind of detective.”
“Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de” is a mystery drama based on Tokuya Higashigawa’s popular novel of the same title. ‘Reiko’ (Kitagawa) is the daughter of a very powerful business, and a novice detective. Annoyed by the childish reasoning of her boss ‘Kazamatsuri’ (Shiina), she isn’t able to find clues to any solution. Reiko relies on her butler ‘Kageyama’ (Sakurai) to smoothly solve various cases.
Sakurai commented, “I’ve read the original work before, but I never thought I would be the one to play ‘Kageyama’… I was surprised.” He continued, “With the guidance from a teacher, I want to learn the etiquette of a butler.” When asked, “After dinner, what do you do?“, Sakurai answered, “Take a bath. That’s good, right?”
Kitagawa elaborated on her character, ‘Reiko’, saying, “Reiko is straightforward and pure, it’s my first time playing such a role. I’ve been filming while learning from my ’senpais’. I hope this will become an enjoyable drama that people will be able to laugh at.” Meanwhile, Shiina, who will play ‘Kazamatsuri’, showed his confidence. “This is the first crime that I can’t catch up to the truth, but it’s fresh. I think it’s stylish and heartwarming, a drama that’s different from others,” he boasted.
The drama will air every Tuesdays at 9:00 pm starting on October 18th.
Not sure about what Keiko says regarding Reiko being unique in the ‘straightforward’ and ‘pure’ sense. Could you not describe Mars the same way? Curious. I’ll take her at her word - pure might mean innocent or something other than what I’m thinking of. But yeah, random.
And I finally know who white suit guy is! Huzzah!
